Natural Ways to Relieve Your Pain

Just like there are dozens of pain pills on the store shelves there are dozens of natural ways to relieve your pain. But pain relief is one thing and correcting the cause is another. If I want pain relief, I'm NOT going to take a pain pill. Why? Even though they are inexpensive and cheap they are chemical based and have side effects. Most people won't get side effects at first but with time they start to happen. Like an irritated stomach... the beginning of a stomach ulcer. High blood pressure.....then you go to the doctor and he prescribes another pill for that. Ran into a guy at Walgreens that I had met playing tennis a couple years ago. He was buying ...you guessed it...pain pills. His reasoning was..."i don't take them every day." And I told him that was safer but that the danger was in taking them for 10-!5-20 years. He looked at me like a deer caught in the headlights. I went on to explain the many natural ways to achieve pain relief. He put the bottle back on the shelf shook my hand and thanked me. Lower Back Pain Relief Tips

Health Tips for low back pain sufferers. DO NOT sit for more than 30-45 minutes. Sit up straight don't slouch which puts more pressure on your mid to low back. Get up and go drink some preferably filtered alkaline Kangen water. Even if you just get up for 1-2 minutes will help the constant pressure on your spine and discs. At home lay down if you watch a lot of TV. Better to limit TV to 30-60 minutes. Go for a walk. Use a heating pad 15-20 minutes to soothe tight muscles. You can also use an ice pack for 10-15 minutes when you finish with the heat pad. Do some simple stretches, Yoga, TaiChi, Qigong etc. are all excellent. Massage, Acupuncture, Acupressure, Chiropractic, can also be a life saver.Many people take Motrin Advil, or prescription drugs because their medical doctor recommended prescribed that. For short term use like a week or two is not so dangerous but if you take it longer your risks of nasty side effects increases with time and dosage. BEWARE!! Over the counter and prescription drugs are the leading cause for stomach bleeding ulcers, liver & kidney damage and many other side effects. The Amazing Field of Alternative Medicine

I've come across a new technology for pain and wellness. It is based on the science of Acupuncture and Homeopathy. It is an amazing scientific breakthrough that has been around for a few years but just now am learning about it. I put a few patches on a patients knee and his pain reduced from a +8 to a + 4 and put another patch and it reduced the pain to a +1. He could not believe it neither could I!!

How I Got Rid Of Kidney Stones, Kidney Infections and Back Pain By Dr. Gonzalez

This is Miguel’s story as he shared it with me now ten years later. He has given me permission to post it on my website.

My name is Miguel. In 1990, after suffering with excruciating back pain I was diagnosed with kidney stones and kidney infections. What is Inversion?

Inversion is an ancient technique that dates back to around 400 B.C during the time of Hippocrates. Inversion is simply hanging upside down using specially designed equipment.

What is the Purpose of Inversion?

The purpose of Inversion is to reverse the effects of gravity and to cause a negative pressure within the disc spaces to reabsorb protruding and herniated discs. In performing this function,   pain relief and correction of the herniated/protruded disc material is achieved. It will also decompress jammed facets or joints in the spine that can cause pain. It is a fun and simple yet extremely effective way to stretch tight muscles of the back and decompress the spine and discs.  There are many other benefits from hanging upside down. Gravity causes compression to the body when you are sitting or standing. Gravity also causes fatigue, spinal distortion and eventually pain and suffering. The only time that gravity does not compress your body is when you are lying down. Hanging upside down will decompress and reverse the effects of gravity. It’s that simple. Nothing else will reverse the effects of gravity like Inversion.

What are the benefits from Inversion?

Continued and persistent inversion corrects disc herniations of both the neck and low back. It helps prevent and slow disc degeneration. It reduces compression fatigue,distortion and pain to the spine and back muscles. Back pain is the second leading cause of disability in the workplace. Inversion is excellent in relieving pain even after having had certain spinal surgeries.

Most patients report that their back muscles stretch and loosen up. Some find animmediate sense of well being. Many patients have reported almost instant back pain relief after only one session. Some patients may not sense immediate relief, however, they report relief after several sessions.

Other health and anti-aging benefits are: Improved circulation especially to the head and face; Relief of muscular tension in the neck and back, improved lymphatic circulation; and improved function of the glands and organs due to the hydrostatic/decongestioning effect of inversion.  In addition, improved brain function of memory, coordination andbalance have also been reported.

Can anyone use Inversion Therapy?

Inversion Therapy is safe for practically anyone from 4 -74? years of age. However, there are a few conditions that may prevent one from hanging upside down.

Obvious contraindications are if you just had abdominal or chest surgery or have a recent rib or collarbone fracture. Persons with extremely high blood pressure or glaucoma may notbe suitable. Every person is different and needs to be evaluated as such. If you have a contraindication you may not want to hang. Or, do a trial by using a mild angle on your   inversion machine (20-30 degrees) and see how you feel.

What Do The Critics Say About Inversion?

If you think about it, if there was a fast, safe, effective and inexpensive way to treat painful spinal conditions, don’t you think that those that stand to profit from expensive treatments like spinal surgery are going to try to deter you from considering Inversion?  Or they make Inversion sound so dangerous when the very treatment that they propose is much more dangerous.  Critics also state there is no scientific proof supporting the claims made by those that promote Inversion.  However there are hundreds of testimonials from every day people who have benefited from Inversion. I’ve collected many over the years and have some video testimonials I will be posting on my website soon.

Certainly Inversion is not for everybody.  There are some contraindications which I have already mentioned.  However, it would certainly be foolish NOT to try Inversion if you have been suffering with back pain. You need to hang upside down every day for 30 seconds or more if tolerated and gradually work your way up to 2-5 minutes 1-3 times a day for at least a period of 2 to 3 weeks. Doesn’t it make sense to try this instead of continuing to take pain pills, considering surgery or succumb to learning to live with the pain?

Let me just tell you that there is no HYPE here. I truly want to help you and teach you to help yourself get rid of your back pain, prevent A LOT of UNNECESSARY doctor visits, save you TONS of MONEY and TIME. If you follow ALL my recommendations you WILL IMPROVE.  Several of my co-workers and many of my patients, many of whom were scheduled for spinal surgery were able to prevent that spinal surgery by hanging upside down as I instructed them. Now they hang upside down every day.

Who Can You Trust When It Comes To Buying On The Internet? By Dr. Gonzalez

I spend hours every day reading and researching information about health and the different websites that promote those products. Some are information products. Some products are packaged as DVD’s or manuals. Most of these people selling information or products online are internet marketers. Many of these products contain vague information. Some are incomplete in that they only give part of the information needed and then try to sell you more information products.

Let me give you an example of what I’m talking about. I did a little research into back pain. This is a topic of great interest to me since I am a Doctor of Chiropractic and have been helping people with their back pain for over twenty years now. I also wrote Hanging Out For The Health Of It and Hanging Out Pain free-105 Natural Pain Relief Techniques.

So…. I Google back pain cure and it gives me 7,830,000 results. There are of course the usual ads at the very top of the page. Then the different sites listed starting with number 1. which states “Here at Cure-My-Back-Pain.com, we provide information about teeth whitening”. On  this same site the owner writes “ I am NOT here to get you to BUY ANYTHING. I am here to help you with literally TONS of FREE INFORMATION on ending your pain. It is my most sincere desire that after reading the articles on my site, you willwant to read my book, and learn how I cured my own pain. Your purchase of this book directly supports the huge (and ever-growing…) costs of running this website…” and on and on.

Now I’m confused. They provide information about teeth whitening & they don’t want me to buy anything BUT if I purchase his book it will help with the cost of running his website. This same site has a doctor directory. Sounds nice BUT the site owner charges $199 to be listed in his directory. Then it turns out the website owner has no medical training….. but he’s giving free advice and then wanting you to buy his book to tell you how he cured his back pain and how you can too.  I could go on and on but I think you get the picture.

There are thousands of sites like this. Please don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing wrong with making money, making a living etc. But the internet is FULL of websites where it’s all about the money. You don’t get reliable information. They have very slick pages, pictures, text, videos all to capture your EMOTIONS and get you to pull out your credit card and BUY. Many will even offer a money back guarantee all to make you think you have nothing to lose. But these slick marketers know most people will not go through the hassle of returning a product. And if you do you may have a very difficult time talking to someone and getting a refund. Trust me I know from personal experience. I have spent thousands of dollars buying stuff on line ranging from books to health related information to information on internet marketing.

So the next time you’re going to pull out your credit card make sure you know what you are buying AND who you are buying from. Make sure it is from a reliable source. Make sure they are an expert in what they are selling be it a program, information or whatever. Don’t get suckered by the slick videos and fancy website pages. It’s all smoke and mirrors to get you to buy.

The Scoop On Chiropractic By Dr. Gonzalez

Chiropractic started in 1894 by D.D. Palmer, an energy healer in Davenport Iowa. Historical accounts record that Dr. Palmer cured Harvey Lillard of deafness by realigning a spinal bone in his neck, which had popped out of place from an injury seventeen years prior.

Chiropractic has grown to be the largest natural health care profession in the world. There’s a good reason why. Chiropractic gets results. It focuses on diagnosis, treatment and PREVENTION of biomechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, with special emphasis on the spine.

Chiropractic treatment emphasizes manual therapy including spinal manipulation and other joint and soft tissue manipulations.  Depending on the Chiropractor he or she may recommend a healthy diet and exercise as part of a healthy lifestyle.

I know some Chiropractors that are anything but the image of a healthy lifestyle.  They are just like other people who are overweight and have diabetes or other unhealthy lifestyle diseases. They either believe they have to live with it and take the prescription drugs or they are just plain lazy and think they can continue eating all those delicious unhealthy foods and snacks and washing it down with sodas, diet drinks and lots of booze.

Okay…sorry, but I just had to get it off my chest.

Chiropractors do not prescribe drugs. Some Chiropractors may recommend vitamins and offer nutritional and exercise  counseling as well.

Chiropractic uses a holistic approach to sickness.

Chiropractic seeks to restore and enhance the innate healing powers of the body. If you can understand the importance of the nervous system and how it controls ALL functions of your body, you can appreciate the importance of keeping your spine free from misalignments and nerve interference.

This is extremely important because if you have interruption of the nerve flow to your organs, they can start to malfunction and that’s when the medical approach to use dangerous drugs and surgery can be prevented.

By the way, you may or may not not necessarily feel pain associated with every spinal misalignment.

All the nerves from your spine connect to all your organs, glands and all muscles of your body. The Nervous System is the MASTER SYSTEM of the human body. It controls and directs every function of every gland, organ, muscle and every cell of your body through the flow of energy or Life Force.

It’s just like electricity traveling in copper wires that bring energy to your house.

A “pinched nerve” can interfere with this flow of energy. It has been called a “Silent Killer” and can be extremely dangerous because often times there is no accompanying pain to warn you that something is wrong and malfunctioning.

This “nerve interference” results in symptoms like headaches, blurred vision, ringing in the ears, nausea, gall bladder or other organ problems, arm or leg pain, chest pain, numbness, tingling, difficult breathing and many more symptoms. Because there is no specific pain involved to the spine, this is why many people think they don’t need to see a Chiropractor.

They don’t have any pain in their spines at least that they are aware of. But when I exam a person’s spine who says they don’t have any back pain, I usually find areas along their spine that are tender to touch. This is a sign of spinal misalignments.

Unfortunately, public perception is that you go to a Chiropractor if you have back pain. This type of thinking has been ingrained into the minds of the public for decades. No pain, you’re fine. Got pain? Take a pill.

This is dangerous thinking and one which reinforces the sick care mentality versus a proactive preventative approach to health. Two very different types of thinking. One is to wait until the body gets sick and then do something about it. Go to the doctor and get prescription drugs or surgery.

The holistic approach is to do all things possible within your control to prevent sickness from ever happening in the first place. Proactive not reactive.

Reactive is waiting until you have heart problems or high blood pressure or any other sickness. You go to the doctor, have some tests done, take your pills and maybe even have surgery because after a while the pills don’t work anymore.

A proactive approach to health is if you smoke… stop smoking (better yet never start), start an exercise program at least 3 times per week, stop eating fried foods, hydrogenated oils and so much junk /snack foods, if you need to…lose some weight. You should also start seeing a Chiropractor, massage therapist. Take control of your health and prevent many problems from ever starting.

Chiropractors go to private schools and are not associated with the AMA or the medical schools. In fact, the AMA tried to destroy Chiropractic back in the 60′s and 70′s by promoting false propaganda that Chiropractors were “wolves dressed in sheep clothing”.

You can read that incredible story which few people know about in the book, “Medicine, Monopolies and Malice” by Dr. Chester Wilk. He and several other Chiropractors sued the AMA and the ten medical organizations. The AMA and the ten medical organizations were found guilty of violating the Sherman Anti-Trust Act and in trying to destroy Chiropractic.

Most Chiropractic Schools require a bachelor’s degree in science and then you attend a four year program. It is a rigorous program and much of the curriculum is that of medical schools. In fact, 70% of the classes are the same classes that medical students take like anatomy, physiology, pathology and so forth.

Chiropractic has also evolved into many subspecialties; Chiropractic Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Rehabilitation, Radiology, Orthopedics, Neurology and Sports Injuries. These are post graduate programs. I took the Orthopedics Program (550 classroom hours) and it took one weekend a month for three years to complete.

I always tell people who have never been to a Chiropractor, “You don’t know what you are missing until you know what you’ve been missing”. Once you find a really good Doctor of Chiropractic it can be the missing link to your health problems.

Remember, the nervous system is the MASTER SYSTEM of the human body! Don’t let anything keep you from enjoying the wonderful benefits Chiropractic can provide , the most important one being keeping your nervous system free from nerve interference.

Lack of Energy, Pain, Sickness, Disease or a Healthy Vibrant Body? By Dr Gonzalez

Lack of energy is so common today. Does it affect you? What about pain, sickness or disease?  In this post I’d like to remind you of some basics so you too can enjoy a healthy, vibrant body and prevent lack of energy, pain, sickness and disease.

The brain, spinal cord and all the nerves connect to the spinal cord also connect to EVERY organ, gland, muscle and joint of your body. These nerves are what carry/transmit the electricity that makes your body work. If the hear, which is basically a muscle acting as a pump did not have the nerve energy or life force coming from that nerve the heart would not work. The same goes for any other organ in your body. The lungs would not work, the stomach would not work and the muscles would not work if they did not have that electrical energy being transmitted through the nerves. This network of nerves together with your brain and spinal cord are the “MASTER SYSTEM” of your body. This Master System controls and directs ALL functions of the human body.

That being said…..if there is an interruption in that flow of energy or electricity …there will be a malfunction. There will be lack of energy, pain sickness or disease.

For example, if there is an interruption of energy to the nerves that control the heart there will be a problem with the heart. It could be in the form of tachycardia (rapid heart beat), bradycardia (slow heart beat) or palpitations or arrhythmia’s (irregular heart beat). I like to explain it by using the analogy of a light with a dimmer switch. You want the light on in the middle position. If there is too much electricity flowing through then the light bulb is too bright. If there is not enough electrical energy the light bulb is too dim.

Not all problems with the heart are caused by an interruption of nerve flow energy. Some other causes of heart problems are prescription drugs, lack of nutrients such as calcium, magnesium and potassium.

I always recommend when anyone experiences health problems to look at the basics first.  If you are having issues with your heart doesn’t it make sense to look at the wiring or the nerve energy flow to make sure there is no interruption of that nerve energy to your heart? It is certainly the easiest and least risky procedure. How? Chiropractic.

Yes a medical doctor can give you prescription drugs to try and help regulate your heart beat…. BUT…that also come with SIDE EFFECTS. Remember ALL prescription drugs have side effects and the most important thing to realize is that those pills do not correct the cause.

I once read a saying, “Chiropractic first, drugs second, surgery last”. That made a lot of sense to me.

To recap…. if you have a health problem… headaches, back pain, ear infection, asthma, …look for the cause of the problem. Check the spine and the nerve energy. Are you eating healthy or overloading your body with chemicals such as Splenda, sucralose, aspartame etc.? Google the side effects of these artificial sweeteners. You will be amazed at what you will find. Don’t believe the commercial on Splenda…..that it’s natural because it’s made from sugar. What the commercial fails to disclose is that it’s CHLORINATED SUGAR. Do you think it’s healthy to eat/drink chlorine?

How is your posture? Are you getting some form of exercise on a regular basis. The body needs to move and keep lubricated. in order to have a healthy and vibrant body.

Are you drinking enough pure water or are you drinking too much soda, coffee, tea, booze? Get back to the basics… eat/drink healthy 80% of the time, get some regular exercise,  practice good posture, manage stress before it manages you, love what you do..do what you love and try to laugh a little every day :>)
