Did you know.... pain is a signal from your body telling you something is wrong. It's so easy to pop a pain pill when suffering with pain. But all that does is cover up the pain for a while. It is not correcting the cause of your pain. Be smart and don't be a pain pill popper.
Pain, Disease and Sickness Results From Violating The Ten Most Common Causes Of Pain and Disease By Dr. Gonzalez
Every day I hear or read about someone who is suffering with high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, obesity, back pain, headaches, high cholesterol or some other malfunction in the body.
Just the other day a patient and I were discussing the fact that when he went to see his medical doctor for an annual exam they told him he had borderline high blood pressure and was prescribed some drug . No mention of diet or exercise were discussed.
How many millions of people go through the exact same thing?
Here are the four types of high blood pressure drugs doctors commonly prescribe describing how they work and their side effects.
Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE) Inhibitors
These are often preferred for people with diabetes, because this prescription drug has fewer side effects, does not affect blood sugar levels and provides additional kidney protection. ACE inhibitors expand blood vessels and decrease resistance, which lets blood flow more easily and makes the heart’s work easier or more efficient. ACE inhibitors are used to treat symptoms of heart failure and to lower blood pressure. Your medical doctor should perform periodic blood tests to make sure there are no effects on your potassium levels or kidneys.
Diuretics lower blood pressure by causing the body to rid itself of excess fluids and sodium through urination. If diuretics alone don’t bring the desired effects, they may be combined with other blood pressure medications. In people with diabetes, diuretic drugs may increase the blood sugar level.
Some of these drugs may decrease your body’s supply of potassium.
Beta blockers decrease the heart rate and cardiac output, which lowers blood pressure. They’re also used with therapy for cardiac arrhythmias and in treating angina pectoris.
For people with diabetes, beta blockers may hide some of the warning signs of low blood sugar. When you take a beta blocker, your heart rate may not increase in response to a low blood sugar level. You will need to check your blood sugar levels carefully after you start taking a beta blocker. If you have low blood sugar often, your doctor may want to change the dosages of your diabetes medicine.
Angiotensin-2 (AT-2) receptor antagonists have been shown to produce effects similar to those produced by ACE inhibitors. They may be better tolerated because they produce less cough. Rather than lowering levels of angiotensin II (as ACE inhibitors do), angiotensin II receptor blockers prevent this chemical from having any effects on the heart and blood vessels. This keeps blood pressure from rising.
For people with diabetes, this medication is often preferred because of the extra protection for the kidneys.
Calcium channel blockers, also known as “calcium antagonists,” interrupt the movement of calcium into heart and vessel cells. Besides being used to treat high blood pressure, they’re also used to treat angina (chest pain) and/or some arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms).
What is Inversion?
Inversion is an ancient technique that dates back to around 400 B.C during the time of Hippocrates. Inversion is simply hanging upside down using specially designed equipment.
What is the Purpose of Inversion?
The purpose of Inversion is to reverse the effects of gravity and to cause a negative pressure within the disc spaces to reabsorb protruding and herniated discs. In performing this function, pain relief and correction of the herniated/protruded disc material is achieved. It will also decompress jammed facets or joints in the spine that can cause pain. It is a fun and simple yet extremely effective way to stretch tight muscles of the back and decompress the spine and discs. There are many other benefits from hanging upside down. Gravity causes compression to the body when you are sitting or standing. Gravity also causes fatigue, spinal distortion and eventually pain and suffering. The only time that gravity does not compress your body is when you are lying down. Hanging upside down will decompress and reverse the effects of gravity. It’s that simple. Nothing else will reverse the effects of gravity like Inversion.
What are the benefits from Inversion?
Continued and persistent inversion corrects disc herniations of both the neck and low back. It helps prevent and slow disc degeneration. It reduces compression fatigue, distortion and pain to the spine and back muscles. Back pain is the second leading cause of disability in the workplace. Inversion is excellent in relieving pain even after having had certain spinal surgeries.
Most patients report that their back muscles stretch and loosen up. Some find animmediate sense of well being. Many patients have reported almost instant back pain relief after only one session. Some patients may not sense immediate relief, however, they report relief after several sessions.
Other health and anti-aging benefits are: Improved circulation especially to the head and face; Relief of muscular tension in the neck and back, improved lymphatic circulation; and improved function of the glands and organs due to the hydrostatic/decongestioning effect of inversion. In addition, improved brain function of memory, coordination andbalance have also been reported.
Many celebrities have embraced Inversion. Richard Gere popularized Inversion by doing abdominal crunches while hanging upside down in the movie American Gigolo. Rosie O’Donnell shared on her talk show and demonstrated how she uses Inversion as therapy for depression. Jack Canfield from the hit movie The Secret and Mark Victor Hansen of the book series Chicken Soup for the Soul also use Inversion. The Army Rangers use Inversion as part of their conditioning program.
Thousands of chiropractors, patients and ordinary people all around the world hang upside down every day. I’ve been hanging for twenty years and no longer suffer with a burning sensation or pain in my neck or low back. I would often get cricks in my neck and low back. I no longer suffer with any of that. It is an excellent preventative technique that is quick, simple and extremely effective. There are thousands of patients who would have continued to suffer with pain or may have ended up worse after a spinal surgery had it not been for Inversion.
Inversion Therapy can help you too… if you’re willing to try something different!
Can anyone use Inversion Therapy?
Inversion Therapy is safe for practically anyone from 4 -74? years of age. However, there are a few conditions that may prevent one from hanging upside down.
Obvious contraindications are if you just had abdominal or chest surgery or have a recent rib or collarbone fracture. Persons with extremely high blood pressure or glaucoma may notbe suitable. Every person is different and needs to be evaluated as such. If you have a contraindication you may not want to hang. Or, do a trial by using a mild angle on your inversion machine (20-30 degrees) and see how you feel.
What Do The Critics Say About Inversion?
If you think about it, if there was a fast, safe, effective and inexpensive way to treat painful spinal conditions, don’t you think that those that stand to profit from expensive treatments like spinal surgery are going to try to deter you from considering Inversion? Or they make Inversion sound so dangerous when the very treatment that they propose is much more dangerous. Critics also state there is no scientific proof supporting the claims made by those that promote Inversion. However there are hundreds of testimonials from every day people who have benefited from Inversion. I’ve collected many over the years and have some video testimonials I will be posting on my website soon.
Certainly Inversion is not for everybody. There are some contraindications which I have already mentioned. However, it would certainly be foolish NOT to try Inversion if you have been suffering with back pain. You need to hang upside down every day for 30 seconds or more if tolerated and gradually work your way up to 2-5 minutes 1-3 times a day for at least a period of 2 to 3 weeks. Doesn’t it make sense to try this instead of continuing to take pain pills, considering surgery or succumb to learning to live with the pain?

There is a chapter dedicated to information on Inversion, specific simple exercises for your back and neck, do’s and don’ts, home therapy recommendations and much more. That chapter alone is worth a thousand dollars. A thousand dollars? What is the cost of a spinal surgery that does not have a 100% guarantee and has possible serious risks? What is it worth to you to finally rid yourself of the pain and suffering that you have been experiencing for …how many years?

So…. Who are you going to believe? Someone who has used Inversion Therapy for over 24 years and has helped thousands of patients. Someone who wrote the book on Inversion. Someone who has dedicated his life to helping people cure their back pain and prevent risky, costly spinal surgeries. Someone who is on Facebook every day to help educate and inform the public about Inversion and other natural healthcare techniques.
Talk to your health care provider(s), do some research on the internet and you will find that you don’t have to live in pain or have that dreaded surgery. There are certain circumstances when a spinal surgery is warranted. It is not that often but nonetheless sometimes it is the best course of action. You may think your pain is so severe that you need spinal surgery. But let me assure you I have treated MANY patients who came into my office barely able to walk and some using walkers to help them walk and walked out feeling MUCH BETTER!
The key is to do your homework and explore all your options first. Most of the time if you work with a holistic practitioner be it a Chiropractor, Naturopath, Acupuncturist or the rare Medical Doctor who practices holistic medicine you will find that you don’t have to succumb to the typical prescription drugs, injections, surgery or have to “learn to live with the pain”.
There is a safer, better, faster way to getting rid of your pain and suffering once and for all.
Isn’t it time you discovered the wonderful benefits of Inversion?
Disclaimer: It is important that you be aware that everything has a risk. Driving a car has a risk. Taking an aspirin has a risk. The longer you take aspirin or any of those types of pills the greater the risk becomes. Educate yourself and you will minimize the risks. Inversion is an extremely safe therapy for most people!
The slogan, “I Hang, I Stretch, I’m Pain Free” was inspired by the many companies that use slogans to create brand awareness such as WalMart’s- Save Money. Live Better. I had been wanting to create my own slogan for some time now and just the other day, while at the movies with my children, an advertisement for Jeep came on the screen and then it came to me, “I Hang, I Stretch, I’m Pain Free!”
I can’t say enough good things about Inversion Therapy (hanging upside down) and how it has helped get rid of my neck and low back pains.
It has also helped thousands of my patients now that I have been using this technique for over twenty years.
This blog came about because there are millions of people who suffer with back and neck problems and need to learn about this technique. I wanted to share my results with the world. I felt the best way to get this information out to the world was to write a book and promote this information on a blog.
It’s taken me three and a half years to research and write the book, HANGING OUT FOR PAIN RELIEF- How Inversion Can Cure Your Back Pain in 3 Minutes a Day.
You can read an excerpt from HANGING OUT FOR PAIN RELIEF here on this blog….look for the article/blog post…Commonly Asked Questions about Inversion Therapy.
I just want to iterate that at first you may not understand why hanging upside down is so good for your spine or discs. But it’s a fun and simple yet extremely effective way to stretch and decompress the human body, specifically the spine and discs. All it takes is just one minute a day for maintenance. If you have a disc problem you may need to hang for one minute three to six times a day until the problem resolves.
Here’s the main reason why hanging upside down is so effective for treating disc herniations and many other back and spine problems. Gravity causes compression to the body when you are sitting or standing.
Hanging upside down will decompress the spine due to the compression effects of gravity. It’s that simple. Nothing else will reverse the effects of gravity like Inversion Therapy. Nothing. Spinal surgery is risky and there is no guarantee that your back pain will be cured with surgery. In fact, my experience of over twenty four years with dealing with patients and listening to their comments is this: of those people who have had spinal surgery about 1/3 get better …some completely some a little better some a lot better but still have some pain. 1/3 have no change and 1/3 get worse. Besides the uncertainty of any surgery especially the spine there are several risks you will face. and the risks depend on the surgeon and the type of surgery you are being recommended. Infection, blood clots, memory loss from the anesthesia. Read more about the risks and complications here. http://www.spine-health.com/treatment/spinal-fusion/potential-risks-and-complications-acdf-surgery
