I have often said to my patients. “Exercise is Medicine to the Mind & Body!” When I stop exercising for a month or two or more I feel the effects. Less energy, moody, less libido, I eat more and usually more of the wrong foods that I should be eating less of. The right exercise is Vital. It could be walking if you don’t have knee or hip pain. Bicycle riding is best if you do have knee or hip pain. Then there’s weight lifting. Many ladies neglect this part of exercise but it is equally important as is Cardio. You don’t have to lift very heavy weights and in fact I caution patients about “dead lifts” and “squats”. I treated MANY patients who got hurt doing those two exercises. Exercise IS THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH AS IS HAVING A HEALTHY DIET! Exercise increase your hormone levels that decrease as one ages. Exercise gives you energy, boosts your metabolism and so MANY MORE BENEFITS! Exercise improves your mental, emotional and physical health. Now that the weather is cooling take advantage and get back on track to your exercise routines! It could be as simple as going for a 30 minute walk every day.
