Many patients come to me because of knee problems. Several factors to look at. Activity level- athletes need a good pair of orthotics and not the cheap Walmart Dr. Scholls. I’ve tried them and they don’t work. No matter how expensive the tennis shoes or other shoe is they ALL need an Orthotic insole. 2. Weight-if you are even 30 lbs overweight which seems like not a lot think again. Go to the gym or stores that sell weights and pick up a 30 lb. weight. Pick up a 50 lb. weight. Walking around with all that extra weight is not good for the knees or hips. 3. And if you work where you stand or walk a lot that’s another factor. I have my patients try all 4 different orthotics to see which are the most comfortable for them. Most of the time this will great reduce and or eliminate knee pain.
